Everything about Champion 103 totally explained

Champion 103 is a local radio station broadcasting to Gwynedd and Anglesey from the Arfon transmitting station, owned by Global Radio as part of the Marcher Radio Group. When it launched, it was the first station to serve Anglesey and Gwynedd as a whole, but Marcher Coast 96.3 had been broadcasting to a small part of the area for some time.
Although its official transmission area takes in most of the Isle of Anglesey and a large part of Gwynedd (as far South as Harlech) the location of its transmitter means the signal carries across Cardigan Bay and can be heard in parts of Pembrokeshire and even the Republic of Ireland.
The station's studios are based in Parc Menai on the outskirts of Bangor and broadcasts a mix of Welsh and English language programming. Welsh language and Welsh music shows air daily at breakfast and drivetime plus at weekends; some programmes are also shared with Coast 96.3 plus various network programming from Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham and London.

Cŵl Cymru

One of Champion's shows include Cŵl Cymru, a Welsh music programme broadcast from 6pm-7pm by Owain Llŷr. It is also simulcast on Gold North Wales and Cheshire. It is repeated at 10pm on Coast 96.3.
